![]() ![]() In this way, a business network is dynamic ( Ritter and Ford, 2004 Mattsson and Johanson, 2006) and the different actors adapt mutually to each other’s activities ( Anderson et al., 1994 Håkansson and Snehota, 1989). Business relationships are not static, they develop over time ( Hadjikhani and LaPlaca, 2013) and companies react to changes and adapt as a consequence ( Harrison et al., 2010 Håkansson and Snehota, 1989). From a business network perspective, companies are interconnected through business relationships and interactions ( Ford and Håkansson, 2006). However, when companies acquire other companies, only the two involved companies seem to be in focus. In this study, we assume that synergy may emerge, intended or not intended because of an acquisition. Being an important measure of the expected outcome of acquisitions ( Larsson and Finkelstein, 1999), there seems to be a difference between intentions and realisations ( Zollo and Meier, 2008), which makes acquisition planning important ( Epstein, 2005). In the literature, the realisation of synergy appears complicated and not easily achieved ( Garzella and Fiorentino, 2014 Zaheer et al., 2013 Zollo and Meier, 2008) often due to integration problems ( Teerikangas and Thanos, 2018 Cartwright et al., 2012 Mirc, 2012), differences in organisational culture ( Stahl and Voigt, 2008) or difficulties in presenting positive financial performance ( King et al., 2004). Intended synergy is more commonly described than achieved synergy because synergy is not only difficult to attain ( Zaheer et al., 2013 Goold and Campbell, 1998 Porter, 1987) but also to identify and measure ( Garzella and Fiorentino, 2014 Zaheer et al., 2013 Goold and Campbell, 2000). ![]() The broadly used concept ( Campbell and Sommers Luchs, 1998) lacks a common definition besides the general “two plus two equals five” ( Garzella and Fiorentino, 2014 Sirower, 1997 Porter, 1987 Carter, 1977). Synergy is frequently used to legitimise acquisitions ( Mukherjee et al., 2004 Seth et al., 2000 Trautwein, 1990 Porter, 1987) in various types of industries, for example, Mylan’s acquisition of Meda ( Mylan, 2016) in the pharmaceutical industry, Pernod Ricard’s acquisition of Vin and Sprit ( Pernod, 2008) in the food industry, AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner ( AT&T, 2016) in the communications industry and Volkswagen’s acquisition of Scania ( Volkswagen, 2014) in the manufacturing industry. Consequently, he executed his first non-figurative painting, Inception. This revelation originates from the readings of Edward Crankshaw and his interpretation of the work of Joseph Conrad as an abstract literature. Later during year 1944, he began his reflection on aesthetics held by the following concept: painting does not need to represent to exist. In 1942, he executed figurative paintings of England from postcards as a hobby ( Oxford Street By Night). During the ensuing years he held several jobs, serving as an interpreter for the American Army in Cambrai in 1944, teaching in the American University of Biarritz, and teaching at Istres during years 1945-46. Mathieu obtained a position as an English teacher in 1942 at the lycée of Douai in the north of France. Thereafter, he studied English and law at the University of Lille. This is the hands-off one, not as luxurious as Martha’s, not as quick as the stovetop. The Quick, Essential Stovetop Mac-and-Cheese is exactly as it sounds, a way better than boxed weeknight savior, and it takes, at most, 3 minutes longer to make (the 3 minutes you grate the cheese.) The mic drop of the macaroni-and-cheese category, the one you make when only the very, very best will do, is Martha’s Mac-and-Cheese. Note: There are three macaroni-and-cheese recipes on this site and this is not an accident. “The moral of the story: When in doubt, add more cheese.” Finally, she suggests that you resist the temptation to form a crust with unrelated ingredients such as bread crumbs, corn flakes or tortilla chips, with enough cheese, a crisp naturally forms on top. One, a seemingly outrageous 2:1 ration of cheese to pasta is indeed possible, and a good thing. She bestows on us several nuggets of gooey wisdom. “None of the recipes came close to my fantasy of what the dish should be: nothing more than tender elbows of pasta suspended in pure molten cheddar, with a chewy, golden-brown crust of cheese on top,” she says, to which I say amen. She finds herself searching, like me, for an un-fussy, classic recipe and finds even more atrocities from white sauces, Worcestershire, smoked gouda and creamed onions instead. ![]() ![]() A quick search on the New York Times website brought me to this archived article, from the NYT’s Julia Moskin. Sadly, finding a good recipe was not this simple, and seriously, when did mac-and-cheese get so gussied up? Bacon? Onions? Mushrooms? Blue cheeses? Heavy creams? Bechamel sauces with low proportions of mild cheeses? Curry? Blech! Look, there’s a place for fancy, and childhood classics aren’t it. There’s no comparison, not even a nominal one, to the box mixes, and if I told that the essence of most recipes is to boil milk, stir in cheese, pour it over par-baked pasta and bake it until it’s crusted, would you then believe me? It’s not really my favorite thing, but would that score me points with my eternal-inner-child husband or what? As I searched fruitlessly for a good basic recipe that was neither a pot de crème nor a puddle of ganache, I remembered that I also had a chunk of Cabot extra sharp cheddar to use up and now do you see how these things come to pass? Mac and cheese is one of these sinful beauts that I encourage everyone to make, at least once, from scratch. It’s sat unopened in the fridge since, leaving me the quandary of finding a recipe that used a large quantity of it, as my inner Yiddishe Mama would not allow me to let it go bad, and god knows I am not earnest enough to actually make my morning lattes at home. The quart of whole milk had been purchased last Saturday with the intention of using it in aforementioned spinach quiche, which, oops, didn’t require any. And yes, I know you are snickering, because how on earth can one innocently go about a process than concludes with spooning into a deep casserole dish crusted with cheese and pasta in a two to one ratio? Well, you’re me, that’s how and you needed to use up some milk. You know, this really started out far more innocently than it now may seem. While neither Disney nor CAA has responded to Ormond’s allegations, an attorney for Weinstein told Variety that the convicted sex offender “categorically denies” the actress’s account and “is prepared to vehemently defend himself.” Meanwhile, Ormond, who was able to file her sexual-battery lawsuit under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows the alleged victims of sexual offenses to file civil suits even after the statute of limitations has passed, told the outlet she seeks “a level of personal closure” by holding Weinstein and the companies accountable. ![]() ![]() “Brazenly, none of these prominent companies warned Ormond that Weinstein has a history of assaulting women because he was too important, too powerful, and made them too much money.” So too did Weinstein’s employers at Miramax and Disney,” Ormond’s lawsuit states, per Variety. “The men at CAA who represented Ormond knew about Weinstein. Ormond’s suit also alleges that Weinstein retaliated against her, spurring Miramax to terminate her contract and CAA to transfer her to a less experienced agent. Ormond’s suit also claims that her former agents knew about “ multiple confidential settlements” Weinstein had reached “to keep his conduct hidden” from the public. The actress, who was represented by CAA at the time of the alleged assault, claims in her suit that she informed agents Bryan Lourd and Kevin Huvane, who are now co-chairmen of the talent agency, what happened with Weinstein she says they warned her against pursuing legal action to avoid fallout with him. Per Variety, what makes Ormond’s suit unusual is that it also names Weinstein’s business partners - CAA, the Walt Disney Company, and Miramax - as defendants. Three years later, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and assault in New York after a California trial over similar charges earlier this year, a Los Angeles judge sentenced him to an additional 16 years, which he will serve consecutively. More than 80 women in the entertainment industry have come forward about Weinstein’s predatory behavior since allegations against him were first reported in 2017. Ormond says Weinstein lured her into giving him a massage and then climbed on top of her, masturbated, and forced her to give him oral sex, an account consistent with his well-established patterns of sexual misconduct. According to a suit filed in New York on Wednesday and obtained by Variety, Ormond, who is best known as a mainstay of ’90s films like Legends of the Fall and Sabrina, has accused the disgraced producer of sexually assaulting her after a business dinner in 1995. I could use a really powerful servo but they’re expensive at the torque I think I’m going to need. there’s quite a lot to move up and down so I think I’m going to use a geared DC motor and use a potentiometer as a positional feedback pot to let the Arduino know how far to move it backwards and forwards. I also started looking at rough mechanisms to get the thing raising and lowering. and resin was slush cast in about 5 layers to get a light, hollow body. There are also parts from a Kazon and Marquis fighter on the body. In other cases it's easier to take castings from 3D printed copies I draw up in Fusion360. Some parts require turning and machining. Most of the parts at this early stage are just placeholders and will be swapped out as my drawings evolve and develop. I have been using a lot of film captures and stills to scale and accurately lay out the multitude of parts I need to fabricate. I knocked up some silicon block moulds and cast out the parts I needed for the lower shell. The folks over at the replica prop forum diligently figured out which ones were used. The original creators used Star Trek kits to add detail. The upper half of the body shell and a movie still showing what it will one day look like. I found a guy in the states who has shell castings taken from the original moulds from the production so I hastily threw some money at him and received some fibreglass parts in return.
